The problem
Interior painting done without preparation always shows.
Cracks painted over rather than filled. Roller marks left in the finished coat. Paint applied over surfaces that weren't primed, so the coverage is uneven and the finish looks patchy within a month. It's easy to cut corners on interior painting. The results are visible every day.
Eggshell and gloss particularly show prep failures — any surface irregularity becomes visible in the semi-sheen finish. Emulsion is more forgiving, but even emulsion over unprimed plaster or unprepared surfaces looks different to the same paint applied properly.
The Hancock approach
Fill, sand, prime, paint. In that order, every time.
Hairline cracks filled and sanded flush. Plaster primed where required. Ceilings cut in before walls. Two coats minimum. Masking on all architraves and skirting. The room is left as clean as we found it.
We work in occupied properties and understand what's required — dust sheets, respecting your furniture, and leaving the space usable at the end of each day where the job runs over multiple days.
