Exterior Painting

Weather-resistant finishes that protect the fabric of Middlesex and Home Counties properties for years.

The problem

Exterior paint fails fast when the surface isn't prepared properly.

Paint applied over unprimed render, poorly cleaned masonry, or damp walls doesn't bond. It blisters, peels, and fails inside two years. The prep is where the job is — the painting is straightforward once the surface is right.

This is particularly true for rendered properties across Middlesex. White-rendered houses look sharp when the paint is fresh and well-maintained — they look neglected when the paint has failed and the render is staining through.

The Hancock approach

Prepare properly. Specify the right system. Paint it once.

We clean and prepare the surface, treat any damp or staining, prime where required, and apply the right exterior masonry paint system for the substrate and aspect. Masonry paint, silicone-based renders, limewash on period properties — the system is chosen for the wall, not the other way around.

We also paint rendered outbuildings, garden walls, garage doors, and timber and UPVC features. One contractor, one price, one visit.

What is the best time of year for exterior painting?
Dry, mild weather from spring to early autumn is ideal, as masonry and woodwork need dry conditions to take the coating. We plan jobs around the forecast.
How long does exterior paint last?
Quality exterior masonry paint applied over well-prepared surfaces typically lasts around ten years, while painted woodwork needs more regular upkeep.
Do you prepare and repair surfaces first?
Yes — we clean down, treat and repair render, masonry and woodwork before painting so the finish protects the property and lasts.
Can you paint render, brick and woodwork?
We paint masonry, render, pebble dash, fascias, soffits and exterior woodwork, so the whole exterior is finished by one team.
