Harefield is a village in the London Borough of Hillingdon — historically a working village that retains its character despite the urban expansion around it. The housing stock is a mix of Victorian and Edwardian cottages in the village centre, interwar semis on the approach roads, and some modern development.

Harefield sits at the very north-west corner of Greater London, surrounded by Green Belt countryside, the Colne Valley lakes, and the Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire borders. The village centre and High Street hold Victorian and Edwardian cottages — solid-brick, often with lime plaster behind later finishes — while the roads toward Harefield Hospital and the village edges bring interwar semis and pockets of postwar and modern housing.
